Rahu is a shadow graha — the north lunar node, the ascending intersection of the Moon's orbit with the ecliptic. Represented as a severed head without a body, Rahu embodies worldly desires, illusion (maya), obsession, and sudden upheaval. Though not a physical planet, Rahu wields powerful karmic influence: it amplifies the energy of whatever house and planet it associates with, bringing material gains alongside restlessness and insatiability. Rahu governs foreign lands, unconventional thinking, technology, and mass movements. Propitiated with dark blue or black offerings, Rahu bestows courage, ingenuity, and the ability to transcend limitations when approached with discipline and devotion.
